May all of you have a happy and blessed New Year. I am looking forward to the year both because of the India trip and also since it will bring me a year closer to retirement, scheduled for two years from now! In the days ahead, you will get notice of our big spring project. We will be redoing the front entrance to the Church. The project will include replacing the cracked sidewalk, putting in new shrubbery and a new handicapped access as well installing memorial bricks between the two front doors. These will be either four by eight or eight by eight bricks that will have the names of people you want remembered. The bricks and names have a life time warranty, and I myself plan on purchasing at least four. Order forms will appear next week and the deadline for the first run of 400 bricks in February 15th. You will be getting a letter with more details in the next week. The four by eight bricks will cost $100 a brick and the eight by eight $ 250 .
I also hope you have benefited from the guided meditations we have used at two of our Masses this past fall. I have gotten much positive response. The purpose is to help us to encounter the Lord as we enter more deeply into the Gospel of the day. There will be two more guided mediations in Lent and Easter and if the experiment works we will do one monthly.
Also, if you have some free time in the afternoon, consider coming to our daily Eucharistic adoration between 4 and 5 pm. The Church is warm and inviting and it is beautiful to sit with the Lord, loving Him as He loves you back.
