I hope all 300 who attended the 22nd annual parish raffle had a great time. From my view point it as a perfect day on so many different levels.
First, people jumped in to help. The sign-up sheet for volunteers went up only one week before the raffle day and still we had many helpers. I am grateful to this year’s leaders: John Kuczo, Karen Christensen, and Missy Ely. They were aided by a large kitchen crew that produced a delicious meal: Kevin & Kathleen Harrington, Vinnie and Amy Russo, the L’Archevesque’s (Lee, Ana, & Lee Jr.), Lorriane & Tom Larkin, Jenn Prescott, Barbara Bagnato, Ronalee Grant, Pat Olson, Woody Wood, Ron Secchi, Bob Yap, Joe Jimenez, Joan Fiorelli-Beran and all those who served and decorated. Special mention should be given to Lee L’Archevesque who headed up the food committee.
I also want to thank the set-up crew, led by Alex Sgoutas and Rusty Cappadona. The crew consisted largely of the Saturday morning men’s group. Two other people who also played an important role were Neil Dennehy and Mitch Cooper who handled all the drinks.
As you know, the winners were: 1st prize of $ 10,000, John Kuczo, ticket 0952; second place went to Marty Brown, ticket 0344 and third prize winner, Kathy Coyne, ticket 0371. The winner of the 50/50 was Ron Secchi.
We saw perfect weather, a great sense of community, and a deep sense of belonging to the parish. I am so proud to be pastor of this generous & faith- filled parish! It was also, a great financial success. We sold 889 tickets for a net $ 44,450. Our expenses are still being tabulated but should come in at about $19,000, giving us a profit of about $25,450. Good work everyone!!
